International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE)

Indian Railways & Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), is organizing the biennial Rail Transportation Sector, 13th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2019, from 22nd to 24th Oct. 2019 at Aerocity(near Airport), New Delhi; as Asia’s largest event in Rail transportation and this is becoming even larger this year.

Indian Railways has scaled up coach production from around 4000 coaches to over 6000 coaches last year and is expected to scale up to 8000 coaches this year. This includes complete switch over to modern coaches including world class semi-high speed trains, “made in India” trainsets and state-of-the art industry 4.0 based manufacture. The freight segment from a level of around a billion tones is moving to the next billion with record procurement of new freight wagons as well as the development of special commodity wagons. Correspondingly, the modernization and 100% electrification is envisaged over its vast network within next 3 years with advanced track, signaling, infrastructural development etc. This is a significant opportunity for the Rail industry in India and abroad to network, show-case, interact and build international partnerships and to establish B to B and B to C relationships for a better future.

Germany is the focus country and in addition, there is country level participation of over 20 major countries who have a significant share in the Rail industry. It is thus expected to be a mega event. Simultaneously, an International Rail conference has been organized in the same Venue focusing on Cutting Edge Technologies in terms of the National Logistics policy, National Policy for Advance Manufacturing as well as the current National Development programmes especially Make in India, Skill India, Digital India and Swatch Bharat.
